Personal Finance in Schools
Брендончик Сметана, как обычно, радует:
Why isn't personal finance adequately taught in school?
Most people live paycheck to paycheck and will never accumulate any personal savings, so they dont need to understand anything about 'personal finance', let alone about investing in corporate bonds and equities.
When I went to high school, they taught us that investing in the stock market was a form of gambling. After all, if people saved their income instead of spending more money than they have, then it would "hurt the US economy".
Educating people about budgeting and the cost of carrying high levels of extremely high interest credit card debt, is unpopular among special interest groups.
Остается только выяснить кто такие special interest groups и как они ухитряются влиять на головы учительниц.
