ADVENTURE is one of my favorite and well recognized photos...and it is not a landscape shot, but a casual hand held portrait shot captured while on a walk at Canon Beach with Anna. Here are some tips by +Varina Patel for photography people in nature:

The Story
Back in early days of photography career, I had gotten to know Anna's high school teacher through one of the photography forums. During a regular exchange of comments I came to know about Anna (I had commented on the only photograph of Anna in her portfolio). Together we started conspiring to give Anna a long vacation in US (she lives in Italy). We picked Canon Beach as destination of choice because at low tide the sand is hard enough so that we can push her wheel chair on the beach. After about 1.5 years of planning we (including Anna's friends/family in Italy) finally managed to pull it off in August of 2006. +Varina Patel and I spend a week with Anna traveling around Northern Oregon. When I took this shot I did not think much about it but over the years it has been one of my well recognized shot. When I look back at this photograph I always think what are the odds of random events coming together to make this happen?
